My First Alterable

Ok, so I got this star shapped box at Hobby Lobby a few months ago and have been building up my courage to tackle it. Well, I did it! And here is the results. The pictures are not the best, but I hope you can see what I have done....

Supplies Used:
1 Star Shapped Box-Hobby Lobby
Paint: by Scrapbook Colors (Evergreen)
Material: Micro-suede (saddle color)
"R": K&Company "Twinkle Type"
Rope: Natural Jute 4 ply #72

My first task was to attach the suede to the lid. I did that with Modge Podge Glue. Once I did that I trimmed the extra material and then used Tacky Glue to adhere the Jute Rope around the lid of the box. This step took a little time and patients but was not as hard as I had expected it to be. The Tacky Glue held the Jute in place very well. I Then painted the star and box the matching "Everygreen" color and let them dry. Once the star dried, I punched a hole in the center of it and the lid and attached the star with a brad. I flattened the head of this brad so it looked like a nail. I then placed the "R" on top.

I almost forgot...before I put the Jute on the lid, I went outside and with a lighter I burned the rope so to give it that old rustic look. I really liked how it turned out. Once I finished the lid, i painted the outside of the box and the inside of the lid the same matching green and let dry.

So there, FINISHED! I am pleased with the finished project. I just hope the individual receiving the gift will like it. I have another box like this one that I have started, but it will be pink instead. And the "R" will be replaced with an "M" for our little "Princess COWGIRL"

The second mini-album is one I did for my son from our trip to San Antonio, Texas in June. He was so excited about it, and I love the finished result too!

My New Stamps

Hey Everyone, It's been a while since Bonni and I have been here... we had gotten into how do you say a scrapbooking "FUNK" However, we went to this awesome Retreat in Tahlequah Ok, in June and it just got my creative juices flowing. However, work has kept me busy, so I have not been able to do a lot with it. I got some new stamps in the mail today and let me tell you, I am so excited.... The photo above is of my "Cowboy Boot" stamp that Bonni bought me on EBAY and man do I love it. I have not used stamps very much but after playing a little bit tonight, I can tell you I will be using them a whole lot more. So this is my first shot at Stamping.....(Photo Above)..PS the glitter effect on the yellow part of the boot and the spur is a gel pen Bonni and I got at our local scrapbook store that you can use to glitter anything...just love it too!
friend so much...I know, he would kill me if he knew that. You don't belive me, go check out my personal blog.....LOL!
Here is an upclose and personal photo of the "CowPup", I also got him on EBAY too. I got him from a seller by the name of SimonSays and man do I love their sellection of Stamps. They have it all. After I colored each of these stamps, I cut them out and then inked the edges of the paper and then went over it with chalk....
