My First Alterable
Ok, so I got this star shapped box at Hobby Lobby a few months ago and have been building up my courage to tackle it. Well, I did it! And here is the results. The pictures are not the best, but I hope you can see what I have done....

Supplies Used:
1 Star Shapped Box-Hobby Lobby
Paint: by Scrapbook Colors (Evergreen)
Material: Micro-suede (saddle color)
"R": K&Company "Twinkle Type"
Rope: Natural Jute 4 ply #72

My first task was to attach the suede to the lid. I did that with Modge Podge Glue. Once I did that I trimmed the extra material and then used Tacky Glue to adhere the Jute Rope around the lid of the box. This step took a little time and patients but was not as hard as I had expected it to be. The Tacky Glue held the Jute in place very well. I Then painted the star and box the matching "Everygreen" color and let them dry. Once the star dried, I punched a hole in the center of it and the lid and attached the star with a brad. I flattened the head of this brad so it looked like a nail. I then placed the "R" on top.
I almost forgot...before I put the Jute on the lid, I went outside and with a lighter I burned the rope so to give it that old rustic look. I really liked how it turned out. Once I finished the lid, i painted the outside of the box and the inside of the lid the same matching green and let dry.
So there, FINISHED! I am pleased with the finished project. I just hope the individual receiving the gift will like it. I have another box like this one that I have started, but it will be pink instead. And the "R" will be replaced with an "M" for our little "Princess COWGIRL"

Big Shoes to Fill
Stay tuned for more creations to come........

Mini-Albums
The first is my "Family" album. I love these albums that are stacked words. I am going to have to do some more of these.
The second mini-album is one I did for my son from our trip to San Antonio, Texas in June. He was so excited about it, and I love the finished result too!
